How our client's packaging comes to life
How our client's packaging comes to life
If you are looking to create a successful package, in this article we review the step-by-step prototyping creation process at C&H Letterpress.
Every day it is more and more important to design and produce packaging that meet requirements such as costs, and brand strengthening, which generate some type of purchase desire, be visually attractive, and comply with the Usability and Sustainability criteria. For that our sales associates will guide you during the process.
The process begins when the customer has an idea about what they need. To be able to design the perfect package the C&H Letterpress sales associate will ask questions such as, what type of product will go into the package? Is the product to be placed by hand or machine into the package? At this point the sales associate will request the product that will go into the package. This is a crucial requirement so the package can be made custom to the product.
With questions answered and the product in hand, our CAD Designer will be able to design a package that fits perfectly to what the customer is looking for. The first-round prototype will be cut using our CAD Plotter equipment. The sales associate will review the CAD sample with the client and discuss any changes that may be necessary. There may be several rounds of adjustments prior to the CAD sample being approved by the client. Once approved, the electronic flat size die line is generated and can be used for job estimating purposes.
The completion time of the CAD sample will depend on how complex the design is, and on how long the design queue is at the time of inception. A typical turnaround is one week.
The last step is the elaboration of the graphic finishes, such as foil stamping, embossing and debossing, die cutting and scoring, folding and gluing, among others. For this we have a team of specialized men and women responsible for taking care of every detail to give a perfect final product.
